frequently asked questions.

  • This is something we get asked regularly, and the short answer is no. In order to be able to provide our practice members the care they need and deserve, we opt out of accepting insurance. Most insurance companies create chiropractic coverage for short-term relief care rather than preventative or wellness care. We are a cash based, direct pay office in which members pay at the time of service or choose to pre-pay for one of our affordable membership plans.

Our membership options are lower than the cost of most co-pays, making it more affordable for our primary demographic, families. HSA and FSA are welcomed and encouraged to be used because those are set up for preventative and wellness services.

  • After scheduling you or your child’s first visit at WellHaus on our online booking site, you will be sent a link to fill out your new practice member paperwork to complete prior to your first visit in our office! If you have multiple family members coming in together for a first visit, we strongly recommend filling out each individual’s paperwork in full detail before visiting our office. This thorough intake gives us a deeper look into what could be causing your health challenges. We do require a $50 non-refundable deposit to secure your first appointment. No call/no shows for First Time Visits will be charged the $50 deposit. We appreciate your understanding.

When you come to our office for your first visit, Dr. Denise will take time to sit down and listen to your concerns, learn about your health challenges, and determine your wellness goals. For our new pregnant mamas, we will get thorough details about your concerns, health challenges, who is on your birth team, as well as your birthing and postpartum goals. After learning about your history during the consultation, Dr. Denise will provide a detailed exam and assessment of how your nervous system is functioning using our non-invasive, computerized CLA INSiGHT scans. These scans objectively measure how well your nerves communicate to your muscles and organs, as well as how well your body adapts to stress. They are gentle and non-invasive and can be utilized on the entire family, including pregnant women and children.

If no other tests or imaging are necessary, you or your child will receive your first adjustment. Our pregnant mamas will be adjusted using the Webster Technique, addressing the pelvic, ligamentous and musculature imbalances to ensure that you are comfortable during your pregnancy and that your uterus is able to have less tension to support the growing needs of your baby.

After your adjustment, Dr. Denise will schedule a follow-up visit where she will assess how your nervous system responded to the first adjustment, go over the results of the nervous system scans, and present a care plan that is objectively based on those results. This plan will include how often your adjustments will be and how long your care plan will last. During your second visit, we will also cover financial options, should you choose to sign on for regular care.

You can expect your first appointment to last anywhere from 45-60 minutes, and the investment is $150. Your second visit will last around 30 minutes and will be the price of a regular adjustment, $55. As mentioned earlier, during your second visit, we will go over all of your financial options for regular care for your future visits. Every visit after this is typically less than 10 minutes.

Please let us know if there is anything we can do prior to your first visit to make you and your family comfortable! We strive to make our space warm and welcoming to everyone!

  • While it is our mission to help pregnant mothers have a comfortable, healthy pregnancy and a smooth labor and delivery, the fact of the matter is that birth is a big event for both mama and baby. Even in the most optimal labor and delivery conditions, there are many internal and external forces causing physical stress while baby is being born. These stressors can cause interferences to their developing nervous systems. The lasting effects birth has on the health of infants and children is not something that is routinely addressed in conventional healthcare. Below are a list of things that commonly cause birth trauma:

    • Very long labor

    • Very short labor

    • Pitocin

    • Laboring in restricted positions

    • Forceps/Vacuum extraction

    • Pulling/Twisting baby’s head to aid in delivery

    • Cesarean

These traumas can manifest into things like difficulty latching or nursing, colic, constipation, sleep disturbances, inability to be soothed, and reflux.

During early childhood development, your child is laying down a foundation that they will continue to build upon for the rest of their life. By the time your child turns 2 years old, their nervous system is already 90% developed. Many in the profession would agree that this is the most important and crucial part of a child’s life. At WellHaus, it is our mission and goal to support a healthy foundation for your child through gentle and specific chiropractic care so that they grow into thriving adolescents and adults.

While we know we can make the biggest impact to a child’s health while caring for the mother during preconception and prenatal care carrying into newborn care, it is never too late to get your child checked. Our practice utilizes state-of-the-art technology that is gentle and non-invasive to objectively measure the amount of stress going on in their nervous systems as well as how much care they will need to help undo months or even years of stress they’ve experienced prior to care.

  • Many women who have been pregnant have experienced back pain, sciatica, hip flexor tightness, round ligament pain, and even pubic bone discomfort. While prenatal chiropractic can certainly help with these common challenges, our goal is to ensure that we are adequately prepping your body for the best possible birth outcomes and help you reach your goals during the perinatal period. Pregnancy causes a fluctuation in experiencing physical, toxic, emotional stressors in your daily life. Nervous system focused chiropractic care from a Webster Certified provider is essential in helping to facilitate peace and healing within the body. In fact, research shows that prenatal chiropractic care contributes to a more straightforward labor and birth with less pain and trauma for mom and baby.

It is imperative to find a chiropractor certified in the Webster Technique through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA). This technique is an assessment used primarily on pregnant women and into early postpartum to address pelvic, ligamentous, and muscular imbalances during the perinatal period. By combining the Webster Technique and nervous system focused chiropractic, we can help restore normal nervous system functioning and reduce the tension on the uterus, support the growing needs of your baby, and prepare you for your labor, delivery and recovery postpartum.
